A new wine comming out.
Walmart announced that sometime in 3rd Q 2018 it will begin offering customers a new discount item; Walmart's own brand of wine.
The world's largest retail chain is rumored to be teaming up with Ernest & Julio Gallo Winery of California to produce the spirits at an affordable price in the $2 to $5 range. Wine connoisseurs may not be inclined to put a bottle of the Walmart brand into their shopping carts, but 'There is a market for inexpensive wine,' said Kathy Micken,
professor of marketing at University of Arkansas, Bentonville, 'However, branding will be very important.'
Customer surveys were conducted to determine the most attractive name for the Walmart wine brands and varieties. The top surveyed names in order of popularity were:
10. Chateau Traileur Parc
9. White Trashfindel
8. Big Red Gulp
7. World Championship Riesling
6. NASCARbernet
5. Chef Boyardeaux
4. Peanut Noir
3. I Can't Believe it's not Vinegar
2. Grape Expectations
1. Nasti Spumante
The beauty of Walmart wine is that it can be served with either white meat (Possum) or red meat (Squirrel).
PS. Don't bother writing back to tell me that this is a hoax. I know possum is not white meat.
That is absolutely hilarious. The funniest thing I have seen in months. Congratulations!!!
$2- $ 5 - I'll buy that - for my wife!
I'll stick with my craft beer.
Trader Joe's did pretty well with their $1.99 Charles Shaw wines, nicknamed "two buck chuck". It's now $2.49, and they've sold 800 million bottles.
Everyone makes fun of walmart but they all still shop there.

Hey, dont knock cheap wine....
Most Aussie wine comes in draught and bottled locally. Probably true of Argentinean and Chillean too.Your mid priced French Chateaux wine crosses the Atlantic in tanks.
Supermarkets have always bought enough 'bulk' to make transport costs the biggest expence.
Wine has to be transported as it cannot be 'produced under licence' like beer and soft drinks.
Besides which...a bottle of wine is cheaper than a starbucks coffee!!!!!!

Only two questions:
1. What wine do you serve with roadkill?
2. Do these wines come with straws or do we have to buy those separately?
(We all laugh as we plan our shopping trip to Sam's Club where we buy discount wine....)
