Black Phoebe By the Pool

Every so often the Black Phoebes will land and look for insects but mostly they land on something overlooking the pool or on the pool deck then skim the water dipping their beak in. I hope they aren't drinking that stuff, my pool is serviced and the chemicals renewed weekly. Maybe they are snatching up insects that are floating on the water.

this little guy is right on the edge of the over hanging lip of the pool deck. The bright line is reflection of the water edge from about 6 inches below.

80D, 100-400 mk2 + 1.4x III @ max mm, 1/250 @ f/8.0, ISO 400 afternoon light with fill flash, in shadow of a fence to the west off a tripod

Nice capture, Bob! Why did you keep the pool water? Not a criticism, just trying to learn.

Tried a tighter crop, didn't really like the IQ when blown up that much and cloning the line out was more work than I felt like doing at the moment since I was in a hurry.
Here are those two variations
1. Same crop but cloned
2. Cropped tighter

Thanks for the reply Bob, I did not mean to cause more work. I did, however, like the other versions.

I am retired, lazy, it is too hot to go outside and this computer is a few feet from an AC.
Besides I am going through my files looking for shots to fit the Aspects of Light series.
The additional PP work was less than 10 minutes on those two once I found the shots, and they weren't even the one I was looking for. With 25,000 images (once it was up to almost 31,000 but I have been culling in a major way, esp duplicates, I can probably get rid of about 2000 more that are duplicates from when I loaded all my old files from CDs where I had stored them to save hard drive space and LR took the multiple copies as different images.
