Anyone use the Peak Design Capture Camera Clip system? How do you like it?

I've used it for years, and appreciate the utility. Always kept them on pack shoulder straps where I could get at the camera quickly.l

They have a relatively new device that can be used separate from the strap (a clamp on for other sites such as a belt, etc.) that will hold cameras, binos, etc. It appears to be much more convenient than the conventional strap system. Is this what you have been using?

Yes. This is the 5th or 6th iteration of the Capture Clip that Peak has released.

The price is one thing, but I'm more concerned about the camera staying in place. I'd be nervous walking around with a heavy DSLR clipped onto that, which is then clipped onto a strap. I'm sure this is a groundless fear, but it would keep me from using one.

I have two - they’re great. Comfortable and easily adjustable.

I have several of the older versions so I can't comment specially on the smaller V3 design. The second mount is used for the GoPro or binoculars depending on the location. If you are going to be carrying a backpack anyway they are great, they keep the camera secure in front of you and there is no weight on your neck. I normally use it with their Clutch strap for extra security when I am actually using the camera and have their Slide strap for those times when I don't want to take the backpack. The Anchor Links make it easy to reconfigure and the Dual Plate works well with my tripod. I guess I have bought into their system.
