I just downloaded the trial. As far as I can see, the program has the same features. They say the code has been redone to correct compatibility problems and to make it more stable. Some features that had didn't work fully before appear to be fixed also.
This first version doesn't have any significant new changes. Just a few bug fixes and better compatibility with current versions of iOS and Windows. However, it is likely, that users of this DXO version will being entitled to free periodic changes and enhancements to this version until at least the next full version is released in a year or so.

I run Photoshop 2018 on an iMac and when Apple did the latest update (also could be Adobe for their Mac version) Nik stopped working correctly. DXO's version of the Nik collection fixed the problem. I don't see what is wrong with a company picking up orphaned software and supporting it and $50 is not that much to pay for (hopefully) software that will be maintained, I wished someone had done that for Capture NX-2. The only hesitation is DXO has financial issues and there was talk a while ago about them going belly up.
