Epson makes about the best bargain out there. Their V500 and V600 photo scanners turn out fantastic results and are both under $200. And excellent software is included.

Thanks MT. I did find some more posts on the subject. Looks like there is pretty good debate between which is better, the Epson 500 and 600, or the Cannon 9000. All the reviews I read mention of how fast the scans are for 35 mm negatives, but just what is fast? I have hundreds, if not thousands of scans to make. Is it 1....10.....or100 in a hour?

I had the Canoscan and was unimpressed with the resolution on medium format transparencies, negatives scanned pretty well. A salesman at Office Depot let me plug their Epson V500 display model into a display computer and scan a 6x4.5 slide to see what it would do. I bought the Epson on the spot, there was no comparison! Gave my Canoscan away that night, I didn't feel it was even worth trying to sell.

Well, one could click on the search link at the top and enter scanner but who knows!!!!!!!!

I personally have the Ebson V500, well pleased with it. You could probably figure on about 50 per hour. depends on you.

I agree with MT Shooter. I have the Epson V600, and have scanned loads of 35mm, and medium format b&W and color films, as well as slides, with great results.

Nowadays, scanner has become common PC peripheral for home users. I have a cannon scanner and not any problem happening with this. I am using this scanner since a year and at present I think it is best for all us because it's photo clarity is outstanding than all other.
