Ist Aid Repairs in Tunbridge Wells, Kent. They operate a courier service for deliveries. I have had two cameras repaired by them and several cleaned and serviced.

Hi AJR - I can recommend CAMERA REPAIR DIRECT (
www.camerarepairdirect.co.uk) in Cranleigh, Surrey. Very competent, very competitively priced and very reliable. You can contact them first to discuss your problem and then download an order form from their website to include when you send your camera/lens in. They will assess your camera/lens and contact you with an estimate for you to agree and instruct repair or have your your item returned. I have used them for both camera and lens repairs with equally satisfactory results.

I've just used (this week) Camera repair workshop at Fenny Stratford, nr. Milton Keynes. Excellent service. Sensor clean and 3 lenses checked £40.00, one lens (Canon EFS15-85) needs new guides - £65.00.
I've used him before, and my sister has used him many times. Don't let the simple website put you off, in favour of a glitzy upmarket presentation.

Every camera has its own recommended repair companies that they recommend. Just give your camera Customer Service a ring and they will give you the relevant information. Then you can also look on line for the repair company and see what is said in the forum. I have found this very useful as I did this with my Pentax Camera and because one of the members mentioned on the forum about a discount, I was able to get the discount, but had to register on the Pentax site. I must say that I was very pleased with the service I received and was able to contact the repair Customer Service by e-mail and they were very quick and helpful.
When sending off your camera please do so by Signed For Mail which is about £5 or slightly more. I think it covers you for insurance should your camera go missing, so it is worth it.
I hope this is of some help to you.

That's the one I listed above. Good to see at least two hoggers rate the business.

http://www.camerarepairworkshop.co.uk/Thanks for the link. They seem reasonable and as they repair many brands of cameras, I will certainly use them in mind for the future if I have to as I have just changed my camera brand.
Thank you all for the excellent information. Very much appreciated.
