Things must have changed in Iceland over the last 20 years. Last I knew there was no stigma attached to unmarried women having children, no one thought a thing about it. Marriage was just an option.
There is a small church, probably not much bigger than this one on the road from Soccorro, New Mexico, towards the Very Large Array. I took a picture of it while headed for the VLA when I was out there for the terrorism bomb school...neat area if you like rocks, cactus, and rattlesnakes!
