It came late this afternoon. Set it up and paired it with the Sony 70-300 G. Didn't have time to do anything serious but will test drive in the morning.
Evenings are for drinking.

I'll drink to that! Happy shooting with your new camera. Just remember, autofocus won't correct for seeing double, but the pictures will look good after a good night's sleep.
I debated between the A7 and the Canon 5D III and went with the latter. I'm not sorry, but gosh, the 5D III is a heavy compared to the A7.

Looking forward to the photos....
I don't have that camera or lens, however, I did find that Sony had firmware updates for most of my FE lenses. You may want to look to see if there is a firmware update for the lens and the camera.

The first thing I did was update the camera firmware...haven't looked at the lens. Thanks for the tip.

Pretty damn funny. I just came back from Europe, lugging my big, superb Canon, and yet found myself
Bookmarking your Sony instruction sites... Am I telling myself something I don't want to hear?
I brought the Canon 5D iii because of known company and technology, plus a superb complement of lenses. I'm waiting for Canon to come out with their own full-frame mirror-less camera. I can see why we need to be tied to SLR technology.

Mark Gallager, Australian photographer, has great YouTube videos on setting up the A7RIII.
It’s a wonderful camera. I upgraded from the previous version, the A7r2, and before that, the A7, and am amazed at how much this latest camera helps me take better photos.
Yes, I know all about how it’s the eye, not the equipment that produces good pix.
But quick auto-focusing helps. So does better battery life. So does having 2 slots for memory cards. Being able to shoot silent when necessary, great lenses (albeit expensive) all are also external aspects to better photography.
I’ve been shooting since I was a kid, and have gone through many cameras. This is the best by far because it lets me concentrate on taking excellent shots rather than deal with external camera technical issues.
