I noticed a highly rated used WR Fuji Prime lens for sale by a well-known professional reseller. It is described as in Excellent condition with clear, unmarked glass, but with a very small amount of dust in the lens. I've read that this is generally not a concern and that many used lenses have a small amount of dust internally.
The price is quite good and the reseller is generally well respected.
Do any of you have any thoughts on whether or not this is unusual and whether it indicates a serious defect?
Thanks.

I would not knowingly buy a lens with any visible dust inside.
Buy the lens....it has no effect.
I believe it will be fine if you try a blower or even get it professionally cleaned at your local camera store. During promotions from a show or Expo free cleaning is offered on first come.
Very helpful. I appreciate the effort.
When I broke into surveying, ever so many years ago, my instrument of choice was a K&E Paragon transit. It had an objective lens a bit smaller than a 50 cent piece coin. As a prank a crew member secured a US Quarter inside the lens hood. All but the very edges of the objective lens were blocked But the joke was on him because I was still able to see the survey targets and position the cross hairs accurately. I guess that he just didn't understand optics. The image was dark and lacking in contrast but still fairly crisp.

Even a lot of dust will not affect anything. I have scores of old vintage lenses with varying amounts of dust and they are fine.
Now that is interesting. It also explains why some professional resellers never mention dust. The company I’m dealing with is MPB. It makes think they may be more careful than others.
Thanks.
The articles listed by jeric41 are very interesting. Well worth a read by anyone interested in this subject.
The UHH is a great resource.
Thanks to all.
