Inspired by the great flower posts this week, I took a walk through my neighborhood this morning. In sorting my shots, I came across a couple that I though I would share today. The first is a unique rose to me. The second is the result of my newbie attempts to cope with the direct sun on a white flower. Both are sooc.

If the lavender color is new to you, I have a lavender rose called Heirloom. It is a little brighter than the one you shot. Has the most wonderful scent. I'm in So. Cal. so not sure if will grow in your area. I don't think it can stand frost.

It is a beautiful flower that one of my neighbors grows. It has to stand frost around here.

Suspect your lavender rose is a Sterling Silver Rose. We used to have several of them when we lived in Monterey, CA. Always fragrant & the blooms lasted a long time.

Thanks for the ID. I am surprised it does so well in Utah.

Yours may be able to stand frost, but there are several different lavender roses. A later post mentions one with a different name. Mine is definitely called Heirloom and is no longer produced by the company that used to sell it, Jackson and Perkins.
