The Elusive Blue Heron

Although these beautiful birds are plentiful in my area, I can never seem to get close enough to one for some decent photos...until now. This one seemed totally unfazed by my presence despite coming within 20ft of where I was standing (very, very still so as not to spook it!). I watched it for close to half an hour before it waded around the bend and out of sight.

Nico images seco66 and the Blue Heron may have been around some people that have been providing it with a few free meals! We have one around our home that is very cautious, but I have seen another one that hangs around a fishing camp that is very friendly!
