Nicely done! One of our favorite subjects.

Andy

I like to give my imagination free reign when I see an abandoned property. Oh, the stories there.

Excellent set, I love old structures like that. It is too bad that the walls can't talk and recount all the stories that once had within it's walls.

Great photos. That first one could be the center of a great horror movie.

Now there's a thought.....sort of looks like the house in that Kim Novak movie to which I can't remember the name.

Reclaiming abandoned properties is a big part of my “day job”. I love my job!

Every time I see photos like these, it makes me sad. One has to wonder why no one cared enough about these buildings to maintain them through the years.

I agree, what ever the reason it's always sad.

Great shots, that first house looks really imposing..what a shame if it is left to deteriorate any more.

Nice finds. Im drawn to these old places like a moth to flame. Im assuming these are in PA? In poking around Bucks county I have found a number of places that got me pretty excited.

Yes, they are all located in western Pa. Coudersport, Butler, Foxburg and Punxsutawney. You will have a wider range than we do around here. I would really enjoy seeing some of the places you found.

I will see what I can dig up. I used to visit there with some frequency. A place called Carversville near Doylestown.

Every time I aim my camera at an abandoned or crumbling structure I cannot help but think of the people who were there at the beginning. Who put the first shovel in the dirt? Who laid the first brick? Were they excited about the venture or weary before they began? If these falling walls could speak what story would they tell? A tale of hope and love? A saga of struggle and pain? How did this relic of days past come to be? Ah well.....ashes to ashes, dust to dust.

you photographed them beautifully, wuligal.

Great pictures! I love the heavy, brooding feeling of the first image. Well done!
