This is a small bridge in Minneapolis, Kansas that I had posted a couple of years ago in the regular section. It looks a little HDRish but it's made from a single RAW file.

Well captured!
Just a few days ago, I learned about the rails in the center.
Now, that's the first thing I look for.

Thank you very much Longshadow.

Thanks for looking in Ralph.

What do those center rails do? My Wiki search failed me.

Where ever I read this, they were called guard rails. In case of a derailment on a bridge.
Keeps derailed cars on the bridge.
Just to say if different. Looking at the tracks on the bridge.
If the train derailed to the left, the "guard rail on the right side will keep the right car wheels from traveling any farther to the left.
I may have seen this around switches, as well.
It's journey, learning about this stuff.
Please ask any questions! Hopefully, someone will have an answer.

Very nice, AND it brings back memories of a long time ago. There was a local similar bridge that we called the "Silver bridge". Good for dropping a line or drooping off into the river on a hot day. Thank you!
