Nothing quite like a beautiful sunset

I've always loved a beautiful sunset. There is something magnificent about them. No two are ever the same. They only last for minutes. But they can take your breath away.

Wow, looks like a raging forest fire. You are right, no two are ever the same and I. as well, never tire of photographing them. Would like to see it on a download.

Fortunately no trees were lost :). I hadn’t seen it as a fire until you mentioned it but you are right, it does. The original was 72 MB and way too big to post. I changed to jpeg and thougt I’d checked original but must not have.

I agree, it looks like some of the shots from Hawaii and the volcano. Almost too red! There are also a lot of it which looks a bit fuzzy.

72 megs is huge, what camera was it taken with?

We have had some of the reddest sunsets that I have seen here. I’ve taken some with my old D70 recently that looked more like fire than this one and in jpeg out of camera. This was taken with my new D850 70-200 vr Lens. I had to stand on a wobbly bench to try to be taller than the fence to shoot this. I could not believe the 72 number when I saw it. I am sure with the fence, wires, and trees and standing on a wobbly bench that all errors to the photo are mine. But I am still trying to figure out this beast of a camera.
