These are a few from a group photo shoot (you can see she is only listening to my instructions in one shot), probably late 1970s or very early 1980s (some of my last) guessing on the large hair. In fact this is where I met the model that later came to my basement studio depicted in the previous "Glamour Set" posting. These would have been better horizontal with the whole bike but the background was not wide enough. (Will show you in next post from same shoot with another model)

Oh, and first photo I pulled out one of my old star filters from my wedding-shooting days (brides loved the look on the altar candles). Should have left it in the bag.

I would rather see my sister in a whorehouse than my brother on a Honda

Call me a purist, but I like the whole motorcycle in the photo, even when there's a lovely lady in image. I've been to these types of shoots many times and I always have fun and make the same mistakes. Something about the environment that drops everyone's work product down to the lowest common denominator. I have thousands of photos that are much, much worse than these, so I'll just say, not bad, LOL.

A good cliche quote but not sure it applies to topic, especially pretty sure this is a H-D. (I am not a motorcycle brand expert)

As stated I agree on full bike in shoot but couldn't - you will see in next post the guy that put these on had built the half dozen sets too narrow so I went for cutting off bike vs model in this set. And, agree with lights, background, props, etc often set, they are more "snap-shoots", with only slight control when I got model's attention. Why I tried star filter just to do something different. Only went to a few of these - thinking maybe a photographer friend was going and I tagged along?

Disclosure: All postings have been directly out of the camera, no PP - I did crop excessive tops & bottoms off these vertical shots.

Yes, missed that bit about not being able to get the whole bike in your opening. Some distraction caused me to skim. I did see the star filter bit though, so maybe I get 50% for a grade.

The event sounds like an interesting set up, though obviously not run very well. Things like this need to be like speed dating, with one person per set for so many minutes, then rotate. Even more fun if the sets are really good and it's BYOM, "Bring Your Own Model", of course, that would require a bit of pre-event coordination so the proper garments could be brought along.

It was run okay, considering only 2 models and maybe 20 photographers, for not being a full-time business, plus have to remember this was some 40 years ago and we were just evolving from pin-hole cameras. LOL

Sure they have changed drastically today with digital, technology, etc but also in price to attend. See they run some in Chicago, $150-195 to attend compared to $10 I believe for this one.

Thanks, I was 99% that wasn't a fake HD sticker on tank but I was into hot cars & hot women back then so didn't have time for hot bikes.

I had a 1200 Sportster the same color but a few years newer. Now, I am riding a Harley Street Bob.

I ride a BMW, noisy Harleys.
As for the photo, starting with the first photo I could tell that it was 70's.

Nothing like stolen cars, stolen women, and stolen bikes. Next raid, 2:00 PM.

[Could not resist. Something from my early LEO life.]

Yeah, I used to say that kinda crap too. Someone owed me money, and I got a goldwing instead. After a 500 mile ride, el wife-o said "we're keeping this one!" Got crap for driving a leadwing- but always kept up, and always good for a tow.
I sat in a few of these shoots. The "model" was almost always someone's weekend girlfriend from the club. Bring minimal equipment- and keep it with you. Not thieves- just curious and clumsy.
