Not the photographer, the mountain in Wales. Whether you walk or take the mountain railway, being up there is quite exhilarating. In the first shot Mrs mm is central and looking quite pleased with herself. The second shot is a biker couple we met on the way up - and he now uses this as his screensaver. I think both shots show the joy of being there?
I am using previously emailed pics copied back to my iPad, so will be interested to see how the uploaded quality looks.
Your thoughts and suggestions always appreciated.
The eye tends to see less haze than the camera, mainly because our brains process what the eye sees. On top of that, you have some vivid memories of what it was like to be there as a first-hand observer. To convey that experience to an observer of your photos you'd need to do something to reduce the haze. And it would also help if you could do something to enhance the impression of distance and depth.
Mrs. mm is too small in the frame for me to interpret her mood or manner. Mostly, everyone looks cold but well equipped for a very rugged hike. In #2 I see the man more as hamming it up for the camera than anything to do with his being on top of the mountain. What I do like very much is the sense of place, barren and unforgiving. I feel the haze is part of the scene and that it actually aids in accentuating the distances.

Hmmm...I didn’t want to lose or diminish the haze really RG., this is how it looked to me, and using dehaze doesn’t add to depth, at least to my eye, but I do think there is a ‘flatness’ about the depth - perhaps some local contrast adjustment might help? I’ll give it a go - and thanks for your thoughts, even if I don’t entirely agree, they are helpful.

Yep, they were feeling a bit nippy for sure Linda - at the start there was some doubt whether we’d get to the top due the increasing wind.
And yes, our new friend is certainly hamming it up - but was genuinely pleased to be there as this was their third attempt to get to the top - and the first time they had made it.
Like you, I think the haze is part of it - I was there over thirty years ago on a bright sunny day and the mist was similar. There must be days when it is clear, but that’s the luck of the draw. Thanks for your comments, you know they’re appreciated.

Well I hope you went the 'proper' way up there via. Crib Goch, Magnetoman! But I suspect not with Mrs. MM. clothed as she is. I like a good day on Snowdon and to do the horseshoe is a wonderful walk offering many photographic opportunities.

So many routes to choose from John. Our was definitely the right one!
I think it would be really cool if you removed all the other people out of the first shot so Mrs. Mm had it all to herself!
😉

That’s an interesting suggestion Linda2, I think I’ll have to try that!
