Out homeschool cooperative is interested in putting together a photography course. I would be delighted to teach it, but don’t have enough gear — at best I would be able to teach 2 or 3 sharing equipment. I’ve checked with some of the big vendors and they all offer quite diminutive discounts. Many of the families in this coop would not be in a position to shell out $500+ for a camera outfit, and others have indicated they wouldn’t be willing given the unknown continuing interest of their child. If anyone is looking for a place to get rid of any (working, reliable and *reasonably* modern!) equipment, I would love to take it off your hands.

No, I am NOT trolling for cheap stuff to put on EBay! I am looking for enough gear to put together 5-10 kits to introduce some kids to this marvelous craft.

I do not know what the tax deductable status of such a donation would be at that point, but I have sent a query to the coop coordinator. If it will make a difference for anyone, I should have an answer withing the next day or so.

The home school coop program our daughter was involved with only required that the kids have a digital camera. Unless you're planning to teach the exposure triangle & something more advanced than basic composition, a point & shoot should do fine.
