We really need to see more of the actual plant to see how it grows. Is it a vine, a shrubby bush, or a small plantlet? Too many factors to make identification.

The leaves are wrong for a Morning Glory.
Looks more like a Mountain Laurel but that's a wild guess.

Thanks for all the responses! I think 'dancers' on the right track for I was in Mexico when I took the photo. It was a "plant" with somewhat long slender leaves.

It's definitely not mountain laurel.
I believe it to be the Mexican petunia as stated earlier. This is a screenshot of those plants.
