I used Aperture for several years, but dumped it for Lightroom recently, for several reasons:
1) VERY SLOW on my machine, LR is not
2) Flickr integration SUCKS
3) Hi-ISO NR is nowhere near as good as LR
Apple does not do betas of Aperture, and in my mind that really hurts the final product, Adobe has mountains of feedback from their users to make the final product better, Apple denies themselves that.

I came into photography thru the back door. 2 years ago I purchased an iMac then took a number of the store's one to one sessions on Apple software. When I took the class on Aperture I was so blown away from the photos in the sample library that I purchased a Canon s95, then about 4 weeks later a T2i.
Jerryc41 not so fast my friend I don't know about council or wise, despite 99 degree temps and high humidity I dried my self off, took my Sataday shower and thought I would see if I could help some folks out or they could help me out

We were at 100F for a few days, but we're back to normal now.
Love aperture - got it instead of light room (because of price).
It does most of what light room does and works well with apple.
