Just a so so picture taken with my Panasonic pocket camera, just to show a picture does not have to be perfect to make us smile and I do hope it does just that. Because you see as we pause and reflect on those that gave their all and those that are still fighting the fight for our freedom to smile makes us stronger. To our service men and women past and present thank you.

Apart from the fact this is the wrong section to post images.....what does an image of a duck and it's ducklings has to do with the ones who died for our freedom and so forth. It's kind of confusing.

I think perhaps you might be confused "chaman"
I believe this photographer was giving thanks to all those who have served or are serving.
With our country being in such turmoil, we need to reflect and a good smile certainly is therapeutic
P.S. we have all hit the wrong button

Nice photo and comment for those that served. chaman those are geese not ducks. Again please take time to honor and reflect on those that paid the ultimate price for our freedom. chase

"A veteran is someone who, at one point in his or her life wrote a blank check made payable to 'The United States of America' for an amount of 'up to and including my life.' That is Honor, and there are way too many people in this country now who no longer understand it."

Im thankful of all who have served. My Dad is a Vietnam vet. Now please explain what that image has to do with that fact. I dont see any direct or indirect relationship. If they are ducks or geese.....whatever. What the image, which a bad one has to do with those who served. My opinion? NOTHING. It was an attempt to gather some positive attention towards a badly taken image. Simple as that. Using such an important issue (those who serve to perpetuate our freedom) to achieve the goal of having their 5 minutes of "pat in the back" and empty praise rubs me the wrong way.

So posting a bad image of geese are indeed a good way to honor those that served? Now that is stupid. And sorry your quote although true does nothing to take away the absurdity of your post.

Actually Chaman as I rode my bike along that lake I was feeling sad and depressed as my 91 year old father had to be put in a senior home this week and I at present time I am 1200 miles away and could not be there to help him with the transition, oh and no he is not a vet. And it made me think of all the men and women serving to protect that won't be with their families either and those that will never again be with their families at least not on this earth. And I came to this family of ducks and their little family got me to smile so with my little pocket camera I took a picture and I shared that picture with you all hoping it would make you smile also. And my point is to all those who do not post pictures for fear of someone pointing out the poor quality of their picture, pictures don't have to be perfect to convey a story that's why most of us consider ourselves amateurs. So Chaman I don't need 5 minutes of fame if I offended you I apologize, for those that did get to smile seeing the picture your welcome. And again I thank our service men and women that are serving to protect and also those that have.

troutbum, you have nothing to apologize for. You posted a photo and comments that came from the heart. You ran into someone not blessed with your sensitivity. His loss; most of us will just smile....

Well thank you srt101fan but one of the freedoms that we enjoy here in America is freedom of speech and freedom of opinion and chaman has a right to his or her opinion, and maybe my first post was a little confusing. I did think I had posted it in the photo gallery so not sure what I done wrong or where it got posted as I had wrote earlier I am just an amateur at this stuff so I am prone to making mistakes hi hi.
