Warbler Season, Part Deux

As May winds down here in the mid-west, so goes warbler season. Poor weather delayed their arrival, but once upon us, they were easy to see for those who looked. I recently took a trip with a brief stop at the Indiana Dunes S.P. and then on to Magee Marsh, just east of Toledo. The first afternoon at Magee was washed out - high winds from the east put the parking lot under a foot of water so the road to the boardwalk was closed. We crossed our fingers the next morning and were pleased to see the road opened. We spend over 5 hours on the boardwalk and saw 54 different species of birds, including 18 types of warblers. Below are a couple of pics from the Wilson trail at Indiana Dune SP of a Protonotary Warbler pair at their birdhouse. Then some of my better pics from Magee.

Thanks! I won't tell how many didn't make the cut. Magee Marsh is a wonderful place for close-up views of birds.
