Seems when we post to UHH, we are potentially giving away our images...???

Yes. Only post things that you are comfortable with being in the public domain. Admin can't be liable or be able to police your copyright concerns. Once you've posted it on the net it is out there in the wild, and we're only protected by the morals, ethics and good nature of all internet users.

A quick search shows this topic comes up regularly.

Here’s a part copy of a topic dated December, 2013:

“Was discussed here http://www.uglyhedgehog.com/t-162328-1.html

and here http://www.uglyhedgehog.com/t-1742-1.html

What is the ownership structure of the Forum?

I think its more to cover their ass then to steal your image.

I'm not saying that they will 'steal' images, but read closely; they can if they want to. By posting we agree that they can do so.

Comes up regularly ... in 2011 and 2013. Unless there's something more recent it seems like it rarely comes up. Now that it has come up again I won't sleep at night.

Or as is attributed to Tom Paxton: "You can make hundreds of dollars being a folk singer!"

We lose money on every car but we make it up in volume.

Actually that one is not always a joke. Seems a guy I met who had a dealership told me that sometimes the company would give a rebate to the dealer if they sold more than a set number of cars. It was enough that when he got close to the number he would sell cars for several hundred below his cost knowing that he would get twice that back and thus make a profit. At the same time he was getting new customers and moving up the sales rating with the company which in turn got him better dealer prices at the start of the new sales year.

Those rebates are standard practice in the industry. Chrysler has 2 per month. The dealers need to meet quotas for the 20th and end of the month.

Yes, except that 1/2 of what is posted here, you'd have to PAY someone to take it, so not much risk!
Has anybody here ever had admin take something and use it???
I think people here regularly use crawlers to see if their pics are being used by someone.
Has it ever happened here???

I seem to remember a couple of years ago someone was stealing images from the UHH and posting them for sale. But it was a member, not Admin.
