The NFL has finally taken a stand and has just laid down the rules requiring anyone on the field during the playing of our national anthem must stand with respect. Employees may stay in the locker room if the wish. About time they got a backbone.

Pfffft a backbone? All they’ve done is put a monetary penalty on a bunch of millionaires and billionaires. So now they get to make a bigger stand for their social justice bull**** by saying.... this penalty I’m going to pay shows how much I care about this (asinine) movement. When in reality it’s peanuts to all of them so they will now have a stage to play “hero” to their “cause”. Just my opinion, but I believe this is what’s next. I’d even go as far as thinking other corporations, movie stars or rap artists will sponsor for paying the fine so THEY can have their opinion shared with a Big Bang for their buck. Hope I’m wrong in foreseeing this but I’m thinking this will most likely happen.😢

Why is it that Trump is so concerned about the 2nd Amendment and wants to do a Trump tramp on the 1st? - Dave

To all of you calling for the First Amendment, this is NOT a first amendment issue. It is a workplace issue. The amendments to the constitution deal with an individual's relationship with the the government not their employer. The Supreme Court has said employers may set rules regarding workplace "speech".

I definitely believe in the First Amendment right to free speech. Unfortunately that right is not allowed to be exercised on private property. If you were at your place of employment and decided to speak your mind of something that may not be in the best interest of your company… They have the right to shut you down, as the NFL should have the opportunity just as any other place of business.

I personally don't care one iota about what they want because as typically they have no idea of what to do. The b****s are proving that they don't respect America and the white people.
Maybe if they get off their asses and knees and start becoming real fathers and take responsibility for their own actions.

Why is it that most, not all, of these overpriced sports entertainers feel the best way to solve the problem is to show disrespect for the National Anthem but won't give a dime from their millions to help solve the problem? This is not a first amendment issue.

I heard this on the news this morning that the NFL pukes will do some sort of other disrespectful gesture this year.
So we are just back to pukes who have it all disrespecting the only nation in the world where they can have the lifestyle they have and bought and paid for by patriots who will likely struggle their entire lives financially but still have p***e for serving this nation.
No NFL for me this year until we get rid of the pukes regardless how good they play.

It’s a shame they never taught you that the first doesn’t apply here.

Now you want to demand that black people respect you? Why? You don't respect them. I'm hoping you realize it isn't only black people who don't respect you.

Come on Arch. In your case we know it's because the NFL accepts women as coaches.

Other than "taking a knee" have these guys done anything to correct the injustices? Have they toured the country speaking out on their concerns? Have they set up various centers that will explore their concerns? Have they done anything??? Oh yeah.....they took a knee. They have done Jack S#*T. Nothing.
