I don't get around much now so I dug this out of my files. Taken 8/27/10 at Cumbres Pass,NM. The engine (and 5 others) run on the Cumbres & Toltec Scenic RR. The rail bus is "Galloping Goose" #5 a restored unit from the fallen flag 'Rio Grande Southern

Everything is well lit up.
I going to spend several weeks in the Chama area this summer.

The RR would welcome your visit. If you are planning to ride the train be sure to check ahead of time. There is a possibility that drought conditions will force the forest service to close the forest, which means the train can't run through there. It also means no camping &etc.

As a friend was fond of saying , "WHAT'S THE HOLD UP?". Hell Todd, it's only about a 27 hour drive for you.

On a serious note, there have been many positive changes since you were there. I think you would be impressed and the included noon meal is worth the fare. Well not really, but it is great.
