Arizona Cactus Bloom

This photo was taken the last week of March this year. Taken with a Nikon D7100 with the 18 - 140 zoom lens. Cactus blooms are beautiful, intricate, and delicate making them a challenging subject to photograph. This one was taken at the Boyce Thompson Arboretum near Superior, AZ. I think it is one of my best.

Jeff, this is a wonderful photograph. You captured the delicate qualities of the flower very well. The translucence of the petals is quite well done.

Thanks for your kind comment. It is difficult to get much contrast of cactus flower petals. I think it is because they are very delicate and highly translucent. Have a GREAT DAY!
