Your very kind reply is greatly appreciated Marty. Thanks for taking time to look and comment. I'm glad you enjoyed this one.
I like your project. That is a nice photo. For my composition eye, I think you might vary the presentation a bit by including more empty space around your subjects, at least in some of the shots. Either set up at two different distances or zoom out. For comparison you could always crop. The set ups you do have a certain elegance that I think would benefit from space.

Vicki, I would have lightened it one to 1.5 stops. Otherwise, composition is terrific.
Thanks so much for taking time to add input rmm. I chose to keep it darker after deciding I didn't care for a lighter version. This was shot in at f/8 to cover detail, ISO 200, and the camera selected the shutter speed in aperture priority. I could have opened it up more but wasn't worried too much about the slower shutter with a tripod for steadiness and wireless remote to trigger the shutter. I may try some more like this with the faster lens.

That's very appealing. How did you achieve the black background and reflection?
Your time and thoughtful reply are greatly appreciated Bob. The black background was a piece of black velvet stretched on canvas stretchers and set up just behind a glass-topped coffee table. Any odd artifacts were cloned out.

Vicki, this is absolutely beautiful. I love the inclusion of the loose flowerettes. The set-up has lovely lines and the lighting is very good.
I wondered whether anyone would notice the little flowers that had fallen. I swept most off the table but left a couple for people to discover as well as to help define the surface of the table.
I'm glad you enjoyed this one Cathy and appreciate the time you've taken to look and comment.

You do beautiful work Vicki. This is one of your best. It reminds me of Baroque art of the 17th and 18t century. I like it very much.
I was going for the type of lighting seen in Baroque and Renaissance paintings. I'm glad you picked up on that Jan and am glad you enjoyed this one. Thanks so much.
