Have the D7100 and D7200 and both are fine cameras. Like the D7200 a little better due to the larger buffer. Don't know what the reviews on Amazon say, I have not seen them, but IMHO the D7200 is one fine camera.

Have a D7200 and I love it! I actually bought a refurbished one from B&H. I like refurbished camera and computer equipment since what might have gone wrong with it already has and been repaired, and it's a good price. I like the dual memory card slots. I use for for RAW and the other for JPEG. Good luck with your decision!

I have a D7000 and it shoots great photos. The D7200 is def. an improvement on the D7000. However, if you're going to be shooting sports at all, consider the D7500.

Yep. The D7500 gets 8 fps. Two less than the D500. The only thing the D7500 lacks, compared to the D7200, is the dual SD card slots. Some photographers say it doesn't matter, some say that it does matter.

The D7500 will do 8 fps vs 10 fps of the D500. It has the same buffering (Expeed 5 processor) as the D500. The D7500 has the same low-light capability as the D500. What it lacks is the same AF system. It is both smaller and less expensive. Somebody else said that the D7500 was not much of an upgrade over the D7200. The D7500 has one stop of low-light capability over the 7200. The 7200 also used the older Expeed 4 processor and shoots at 6 fps.

The D7500 may have the same "buffering" for SD cards as the D500, but the D500 takes XQD cards which will take 200 14 bit RAW files before slowing down. That's 20 seconds at 10 fps. XQD cards also write to a computer much faster than SD cards.

THe D7500 is crippled with only 1 memory card slot.

For my use it is also crippled by the lack of a vertical grip.

My 7200 is my XXXX'th Nikon. love it. If you buy one, don't even think about purchasing the thick & overweight 'for Dummies' for it. You will spend more time reading than if you l just start experimenting. The author must be paid per page. The index, alone, is even 14 pages, with double columns. Stick with the simple white booklet that's in the package.

Bad reviews about the D 7200? It was replaced by the D7500, but it is a stellar camera and in some ways superior to the camera which replaced it..

Quite frankly I found not much difference other than the flip screen on the 7500. I also found in the D7200 I have 2 slots for chips and both chips are the same size and style and pretty much a standard. In the D7500 I they only have one slot. Since I shoot as a pro using one chip for backup and the other for the job makes data loss due to chip failure at a minimum which is why I stayed with the D7200. Ultimately I plan to go FF with a D850. That will be next school season when I am making more money.

They do print a manual for your computer. I just find the hand held manual can be carried into the field and perused while watching Tv or having coffee. All the while you can be playing and learning the controls of your camera better while you look at a book. My D7200 came with a thick manual. I never had to purchase it.

I have both a refurbished from B&H and the first one I got at Dodd with all Nikons bells and whistles. Only bought the refurbished as body only. Love the lens that came with the first one. a 18 to 15mm Zoom. Carry both all the time and second one usually has a 50 to 300mm lens on it. Both SD's set as one for backup and one for use and yes I edit while I work by deleting on the first card as the second card saves it all just in case my edit looses a shot.

I recently bought a D7200. It was my first digital DSL and I love it. I'm learning all the controls but I have made some nice shots with it. I love the clarity. 18-140 Nikon lens. While the lens doesn't give mega closeups, the stored information is enough to allow me to enlarge the view in post processing. I'd say buy the camera and take the time to really learn to use it's features.

I bought a refurbished one back in January. While I am still learning I'm quite pleased.
