I'm thinking of possibly renting one of these for my Oshkosh week. One of the reasons is that I'm going to be taking a ride on a B-17 and would like to not have to try to change lenses in such a vibratory vehicle yet still be able to get interior views and long shots (like out the bombardier's window. Reviews seem to be mixed.

I’ve had one on my 7dII since it came out of the box and never look back, if canon had something in that range, except for 18-200, I have it but she’s not tropicalized so I bought the tammy for every day used, it would be my choice for that air ride

The closest thing Canon has to a 16-300 is the EF 28-300L which is my general purpose lens on a Full Frame body. This lens is dust and moisture resistant but it's also somewhat heavy and kind of pricey; it's one of my favorite Canon lenses.

The Tamron 16-300 on my D7100 works well for me. Had I known the 18-400 was coming out shortly, I would have opted for it. It is getting great reviews. Good luck on your decision.

I've had the Tamron 16-300mm lens and really liked it however I sold it and got the Tamron 18-400mm when it came out. The 18-400mm is a better performing lens all the way around.

I just googled the 18-400. Apparently it doesn't come in a Sony mount.

my husband has the Tamron 28-300mm on his 5d3 and has hardly taken it off... It has been all over the world and takes great pictures.
