Pano of 6 pics....

I'm just learning astrophotography and think they are wonderful. Why don't you like them and what lens would you choose next time?
I am jealous! They are beautiful. Is that the sun setting in the background?

Probably light pollution from Ridgecrest, CA. I have an enhanced red filter, that I have not used yet, that blocks the wavelength of sodium vapor lamps, the major contributor to the yellow glow.
I like them Jay! Nice shots.
They are just incredible photos! I love all three of them but especially the first. Would appreciate your permission to have that first one printed out professionally to be hung on a wall here in the house.

Enjoyed them all, this is what I would like to accomplish one day! Thanks so much for sharing!
They look pretty darn good to me, especially for an older 6D.
Look perfectly wonderful to me!
Just spectacular! !!! Rich
Thanks guys. Appreciate the comments.
As to the source of the light pollution: Photos were taken to the south and to the east. Trona Pinnacles is located east of Ridgecrest so that would not be causing the pollution area. South of there is Barstow, Lancaster, Palmdale... and 160 miles south is LA. Not much coming out of the first three. I kinda like the yellow glow to some degree. I'll have to look into a red filter to block it when its too much.
I picked up a used 6D for just this purpose. Next time out I want to see what my 77D does as it did great my first time out - but captured a smaller area. I think the 16mm Rokinon on the crop would be great and eliminate some of the lens distortion I'm getting with the 14mm. I was trampling around from 11:30 PM to 3:00 for 3.5 hours on a very windy night in rocky hilly terrain with camera and tripod and 2 LED lights with tripods, so an extra camera and heavier tripod was just a little over the top for this old man.
