I'm learning new things here myself, and so I wanted to try to do a Pseudo-HDR. I took this old photo I had of window washers on a building in downtown Salt Lake, and made a copy underexposed and one overexposed. Using all three of them I came up with this result. I guess you can teach an old dog new tricks. LOL

First off I'd like to say I'm really enjoying the HDR section. Thank you.

I have a question though - What is 'real' HDR? I've now heard expressions like psuedo HDR and fake HDR so I guess I need to know what is real HDR? Also, what is 'in camera HDR'?

I hope I get this right. Real-HDR is a photo that uses 3 or more exposures to create a single picture, and is not exagerated color or saturation. It will look like what you saw. Uber-HDR is super saturated, looking fake, or painted looking. Pseudo-HDR is taking a single picture like this one was, make a copy overexposed and a copy underexposed, then combine the three like you would other HDR images.Some cameras have in camera HDR which combines them as you take them. Mine will do 2 frames, but I don't like it. Newer or more expensive camera can do more than 2 but I've never seen any posted yet.

My understanding of HDR is the use of a minimum of three pics with the combined result being tonemapped. (As opposed to simply fusing the exposures) Pseudo HDR uses one pic via a program like photomatix to mimic HDR but in reality the pseudo pic cannot recreate the dynamic range of 'real' HDR. Fake HDR attempts a similar result to pseudo HDR using programs such as Topaz adjust. The results are often quite spectacular but again they cannot produce the full dynamic range as they are based on only on pic. Hope this makes sense

MadMike, if I may corect you about Pseudo-HDR. It is a single picture yes, you can but do not need to made an under/over exposure of the same picture. Photomatix will do a picture as is.
