Someone PM'd me tonight saying that she had had a lot of fun with the flowers in the round I had previously posted. I suggested HDR and the new HDR forum on UHH.
Now, how about light painting? These shots were made on our deck last October. For these, I used a Nikon D300s on a tripod and experimented with various shutter speeds, and generally found ten seconds to be the best for me.
Then I would open the shutter and "paint" the face on the pumpkin with a small flashlight. My hand and arm were in and out of the picture, but don't show up against the relatively brighter light. You can get different effects by using a LED light, flashlight with a pinhole cover over the lens etc.
I tried to get my four year old granddaughter interested in this, but she couldn't understand why the eyes and mouth didn't stay on the pumpkin after she flashed it, so she got bored with the process.
Here's another one with a shell-shaped glass container, a bunch of seashells on a blanket.
You could do this with almost anything or collection of things that are of interest to you.
Nice shots. I've always thought about doing light painting, I just never seem to get around to it.
They are great, another thing for me to try. Good job I'm retired.
Thank you ,Very nice. It is something I will try

First one looks like the lights are on in the house.
