That does sound like a terrible experience... thank goodness you can talk about it! We had torrential rain all day Saturday and I think that's what put an end to my lilacs... sad this year, a lot of my perennials didn't make it, so once we get a free weekend, we need to replenish. I did plant my hyacinth beans and they sprouted really fast, so at least I'll have them... did you plant yours yet??
