Thanks Tara. I have noticed a few of the tell-tale "halo effects" in #1 and #2 and have been meaning to go back to the original shots and re-process to see if I can get rid of them ... then life outside of photography gets in the way :).
The halo is evident in #2 but I don't really see it in image #1. To us more discerning viewers it is evident but most folks will just look at them and say WOW ;-)

Duplicate layer. Select at the edge of the halo and feather to about 25. Then lighten. Then layer mask. About 20% opacity and 20% hardness, blend lighter with darker and then flatten. No more halo.
Love the pics. Will be in the area in 10 months, (long way from home in Oz) Can't wait scenery looks amazing.
BTW congrats on skill of arranging rainbow just when you took pic.
