I'm a desert rat from Fernley Nevada. Have taken snapshots for a long time but now have a Canon T5i, a variety of lenses, and a desire to take good photos now. Getting ready to retire and have some fun with it.
Nice. Looking forward to images from your area.
Welcome to the forum.

Welcome! I joined some time back and have been enjoying it here. My first forays into photography were in 1960 at my first duty station in USAF--Mt. Hebo AFS, Oregon. My camera then was a Kodak Baby Brownie Special in size 127. I graduated to 35mm in 1964 with a Petri 7s rangefinder camera up in Labrador, and went on to a Nikkormat SLR in 1966 out on Johnston Island. Went through several Nikon SLRs over the years and went digital in 2004 with a Kodak DX7630 PaS; quickly got dissatisfied with the shutter lag in it and got a D50 in 2005 and progressed through a D7000 to my current D7100. All the DX cameras have worn the Nikkor 18-200VR and VR2 lens almost exclusively.
I've now got more than 41,000 pictures hosted on Flickr! You have begun a very engaging (and potentially expensive) hobby that can yield great personal satisfaction. Do let us see what you photograph. I'm sure some of us have never been the places that you go to.
Welcome! Looking forward to your posts and pictures. Happy shooting!
Welcome to UHH Ritch1, glad you joined us. Congratulations on your upcoming retirement!
Have fun, learn and enjoy the forum.
