First the one I already posted then two different PP treatments of it,one with a closer crop. Then a shot on a different bloom and with different PP treatment.

Don't care much for the subject matter but great photography.
Thank You - I rather dislike this species A LOT. They inject their eggs into caterpillars which makes it hard for me to produce any Monarchs in my yard which is planted with lots of milkweed and other butterfly favorites. But they are here, they are colorful and I have a lot of $ tied up in cameras and photo gear that I WILL USE.
Great capture. It's difficult to know how difficult it is to capture a clear and up-close image of an insect is until you try it yourself. I've spent untold hours in fields trying and come back with nothing but chigger bites.

I cheat, I do this on potted plants and around the flower beds in my backyard. Often I can even sit in a comfortable lawn chair. My lot is on a slope and the yard is terraced - 4 levels (5 if you count the street and sidewalk in front). The largest grassy area of the back yard is 2.5' above the main level which is the concrete deck and swimming pool so I can sit in a chair on the deck level and be just above eye level of the plants on the yard level.
