The person who initiated a POST in UHH is referred to as OP. I get that from reading many posts over the months. For the life of me, I cannot guess what OP stands for. Can anyone enlighten me? What does OP stand for?

Original Poster is correct.
On the other hand a long, long time ago when I was in the service and smoking wasn't known for its health problems, 'OP' was a brand of cigarette smoked just before payday. "Other Peoples"

From the Online Slang Dictionary:
NOUN - acronym for "original poster" - i.e. the person to submit (post) something to a website that permits discussion about submitted things.
Example: "OP said he was going to follow up with more details, but hasn't said anything since he made this post."
