Today was my day to shoot something other than marine birds. These were shot in the hills above Santa Barbara using a Nikon D850, Nikon 24-70mm, f/2.8 lens.

The birds are in a sanctuary, so as a result, they are pretty tame. If you approach them very slowly you can get within 20 or 30 feet. The images are pretty severely cropped. Nice to have a full frame camera.

I did. Thats why i commented wondering where they were coming from. I dont see owls very often and it is always almost dark or dark

They are in a rehab center. They are rescue birds that were hurt. They are in the hills above Santa Barbara in Southern California.
