Fly on Purple Senetti Pericallis

I spotted the flies and bees going to a couple of pots of Purple Senetti Pericallis (no, I don't know plants that well-I read the little plastic tab stuck in the pot). One bee was waiting for the flies to find a flower with nectar and would then chase the fly off and take over.

80D with the 100-400L again. And yes I do like to play with the PP to see what different effects/looks I can get. After all with LR I can go back to the OOC, do virtual copies etc and play all I want without "losing" my original.

I've never heard of that plant, Jerry, but it's a great shot.

I had never heard of it until two weeks ago. I was at the nursery for tall pots to make bird baths, cherry tomato plants and lantana. Ended up with a few pots, terra cotta saucers, tomato plants, lantana, strawberry plants, a few other flowers and two pots of these. The two I picked up looked like purple snow balls they had so many blooms. And each pot had at least 5 or 6 bees, one bee stayed on the flowers until the pot was in the back of my SUV before he gave up and flew away.

I'd love to see the flowers at their peak. They must be beautiful.

Looked them up, cool weather bloomers. So I will not have any in a few weeks. I will collect the seed heads (will be doing a macro of one tonight) and bury some in the flower beds, save some in a zip lock for planting when cool weather returns.

I use LR for all my camera to computer imports and often make a virtual copy of the original out of camera shot - then if I decide to go back and try a different PP scheme I will usually do so from a virtual copy. Some images that I have used for experimenting in PP I have made 5 or 6 virtual copies of the OOC.

Before I started using LR I made a duplicate of each download of pictures and had it in another file tree in a different location on the drive and NEVER did any editing from those folders. If I needed to I did another copy of the whole folder, moved it back to the file tree I edited from and worked from that.

This shot and a couple of others of the fly on different blooms I have done that and now have 5 versions which I will post after I get done watering all my potted plants and flowers.
