I started trying to get shots of bees landing on the milkweed flowers but too much blur and out of focus so I deleted them.
But several flies joined in and I got this shot.
I think my 100-400L has ambitions of being a macro lens. 80D body single frame handheld

I think I can, I think I can, I think I can! That 100-400L is living up to its ambitions. This and your iris shots are convincing proof.

Super shot, Jerry. The 100-400L is one of my favorite 'closeup' lenses, but I have to use a tripod or prop.

Thank you
I was sitting in a lawn chair next to the milkweed plant, I use a pistol grip on the tripod collar and was able to brace my arms against my torso.

Jerry, excellent. Maybe that lens is a true macro.
