This HDR image was a mistake, and I have not previously posted it.
I was making a tonemapped picture of the second pix (with the trellis) and accidently included the third image into the series in Photomatix. The result was the first image which appears to have the blooms from the third falling through the trellis scene.
This one wasn't particularly good or noteworthy, but I am showing it here to illustrate the learning process. I've subsequently used this technique intentionally to have blooms falling through a bridal party, and both the bride and her mother have framed and hung that picture.
that's closer to what i think hdr should look like.i try to stay away froom the too artsy look.
Wow, I like the effect, I did something similar once by having an odd picture in with the other three, but it didn't turn out like this. I guess subject has something to do with it. LOL
Great idea! Something I'll have to think about if I want a certain effect. I did this once (by accident) but the end result wasn't desirable...lol
There is a difference between true HDR and tone mapping. A lot of pictures called HDR are really just tone mapped. HDR is the combining of several exposures of the same subject. Attached is an example that show combining a dark area with a bright area.
That turned out great. Here's a photo set that started out as individual shots, but since the camera had been sitting on a tripod, I was able to get multiple shots of my friend posing on the "Wave".
I selected two of the shots and processed them through Fusion 2.2 HDR software to obtain the resultant shot. The post processing was with PSE10. I'm working with this unusual effect to get intentional double exposures.
So, depending on the critics, this may or may not be HDR.
Pose 1 on the Wave
Pose 2 on the Wave
Resultant after processing as HDR
