This recipe will instruct and show how I cook rice! It did take me quite awhile to learn how to cook rice correctly, now I am satisfied. I made Basmati Rice with frozen mixed veggies and sautéd slice mushrooms in two tabs of butter and a splash of coconut oil in separate . For years I cooked the rice in water. The ratio is two to one, one cup of rice two cups of water!

I will show here with my photos how it was done, and cooked in low sodium chicken stock and one KNORR'S chicken cube Photo 2, NO WATER! Tasty flavor is effected and well appreciated. You'll be impressed with the taste I'm sure!

Photo 3, I rinsed one cup of rice in hot tap water shaking strainer, about one minute. Photo 4, mixed veggies from freezer were placed in small pot with strainer and filled with hot tap water and changed three times, about half bag or less used.

Photo 5, small course chopped yellow onion with three cloves of garlic rough cut and seasoned with Herbed de Provence and a sprinkle of crushed red pepper flakes sautéd in coconut oil about two minutes, then I added as shown from can 12oz chicken broth and cut KNORR'S chicken cube and rice and slowly mixed while added heat to high!

When liquid started to boil I added cover to KUHN pressure cooker and waited for first red ring to appear and turned heat to low and started timer on stove to six minutes no longer! When bell rung on stove I moved pot over on stove and pressed valve on cover to release pressure and uncovered.

I then added veggies and sautéd mushrooms to rice mixed again slowly with two tabs of butter! Covered to set five to seven minutes, made last night, very tasty!

Try cooking with: Chicken Broth, Beaf Broth, or Vegetable Broth, instead of water! You may have a added a reward to your fine classic dinner! CIAO, AP

You cook what you want and I'll cook what I want. I buy it already prepared and just heat it up. Oh, by the way, I have a collection of over a 1,000 recipes which I downloaded from the internet and never use.

I use a rice cooker, AP. Same amount of rice & water (and also washing)...but it frees up a burner on the stove & SHUTS ITSELF OFF so you don't have to worry about when it's done. Practically everyday I eat rice. I cook a lot of stir-fries.

You are correct in your first sentence, I cook what I want! Please, show me and others one of your fine and proud recipes. If you have a 1,000 recipes downloaded and don't use them, then delete them! AP

Cyan, fine written words! I will start by saying I too, have had a rice cooker about 12 years ago. And, the pressure cooker I used on the stove was smaller in size than my rice cooker, although it took a space on the stove!

The two rice's that I use are, Jasmine and Basmati, very versatile and tasty! Pressure cookers out beats cooking time in a rice cooker. Cooking involves a lot tools and accessories! However, I just may add a rice cooker to my kitchen tools! AP

Looks delicious, AP. You create amazing dinners with your cooking skills and your pressure cooker. You then create wonderful pictures to bring your recipes to life. I enjoy all of your food posts and always look forward to the next one. Bon Appetito. John

All I use is brown rice. They have brown basmati....maybe I'll try it. Too bad there's no brown sushi rice. But maybe I can make it.

I have to say John, try Basmati Rice with veggies, you'll be impressed! Very tasty and easy to make, it would be a good lunch by itself. You're always welcome, John! More to come, stand by. CIAO, AP

Remember Uncle Ben's Converted Rice? "Perfect" rice in 20 minutes?

When liquid started to boil I added cover to KUHN pressure cooker and waited for first red ring to appear and turned heat to low and started timer on stove to six minutes no longer! When bell rung on stove I moved pot over on stove and pressed valve on cover to release pressure and uncovered.

That is very, very sad. Cooking is an art which some of us know how to experience.

Yes, I know. I have to remember to take the food out of the package before I put it in the microwave.
