I like my Think Tank messenger bag. It doesn't look like a camera bag, its rugged and it is big enough for a camera plus two additional lenses and lots of extras. https://www.bhphotovideo.com/c/product/1020650-REG/think_tank_photo_722_retrospective_15_pinestone.html/?c3api=3679%2Cbing%2C2763659969%2C4585581963538031&msclkid=315350118cd91e02b7100ae410043d1c

I am also a fan of Think Tank bags. I have the Airport Accelerator and it's taken a beating over the years but has held up, it's incredibly well made. There are smaller versions that may suit your needs better like the Airport Essentials.

I travel all over with my gear and I use a high quality Swiss backpack that is heavily padded on the bottom and back and full of pockets. The padding is truly incredible. And there's no comparison of comfort between and awkward sling bag and an evenly weighted backpack

Between that and a gym bag, I carry-on with two bags and no fuss--no muss with baggage or overhead storage.

I have a Lowepro Slingshot Edge 250 which holds my Nikon D850 with a Nikon 28-70 2.8 attached, a Nikon 80-400 and a 20 mm along with an extra battery , some filters and the camera user guide. The bag measures 6ā€ x 10ā€ x18ā€. Iā€™m flying America-Air France to Barcelona next month and the airlines told me that since this size bag will fit under a seat IT IS NOT CONSIDERED A CARRY-ON which, of course means you can still bring on carry-on.
