Hey Hedgehogs, it’s time for another Weekly Photo Challenge.

The challenges are simple. You start you off with a theme, but where you take it is up to you! The twist is that everyone needs to submit a short statement along with their photo that explains the ‘who, what, where, why, when or how’ they went through to get it. This helps us ‘feel’ the moment as they did, but can also help with voting. You might also find some great tips to make you better. These are more about challenging yourself than worrying that your photo isn’t good enough so everyone is invited especially those who want to improve.

Now for the legal stuff: (Please Note The Changes)
- Contests start Friday mornings and end Wednesday evenings
- Voting starts Thursday morning and ends Thursday evening
- One entry per user, but if you need an update send a Private Message
- All entries must include a photo and MUST include quick statement as noted above. Untitled will be rejected.
- Post processing is fine, but please keep it to the absolute minimum
- Archived photos are not encouraged - please shoot your photo during the challenge
- Everyone gets one vote - if you vote more than once see below *
- Once voting starts there can be no additional entries
- To keep it fair, I will hide the user names and vote counts until voting is over and winners are announced. All votes are anonymous
- And of course, the rules are subject to change as the challenges require

If you need me for any reason, send a Private Message or leave a Reply.

Above all remember this is about challenging yourself – pushing beyond the limits you think you have – so have fun with it and try anything and everything whether you are good at it or not. Make it fun and thank you all! This wouldn’t be possible without you. St3v3M

* Update on voting from ADMIN *

You can vote as many times as you like, but only have one voting point.
If you vote for multiple photos, your voting point gets divided across them all.

For example:

You see a photo you like and you vote for it. That photo now has a score of +1 point from you.
Later on, you see another photo you like and you decide to vote for it too. At this time, each of the two photos gets a score of +0.5 from you.
If you vote for yet another photo, then the three of them will get +0.33 points each from you.
And so on. The number of votes is only limited by the number of photos in the contest.

The rating of a photo is calculated as a sum of all points received from all users.

You can also revoke your vote for any photo at any time. Doing so recalculates your vote share.

So if we continue with the example above (you voted for three photos) and you decide to revoke your vote for one of the photos, then the two remaining photos would get +0.5 points from you added to their scores.

Such system allows you to "change your mind" in case some new photos get uploaded for the contest and you decide not to spread your voting power too thin. If the contest's settings allow it you can begin voting right away while keeping track of new photos added to the contest.

On the ratings page, each photo's rating is shown as two numbers like "4.5 (7)" -- which means the photo in question has a total of 4.5 points based on votes of 7 users.

To sum it up, you can vote for any many photos as you like. But your voting power gets spread across all photos for which you vote. So each photo gets a smaller bump in the score. On the other hand, more of the photos you like get a chance to be at the top of the contest.

Stupid question of the day...What is an "archived photo?"

The only stupid question is the one you don't ask.
An archived photo is one you pull from the past.
The point of the challenge is to shoot it this week.

I have made a revision to the rules. Thank you!!!

just to expand on that its an image you took maybe last week, maybe a year ago or more but its an image that has come from your own archive bank of photos that fits the theme. If you use an old image you are hardly challenging yourself and being creative shooting with the theme in mind. These challenges will get you thinking about a problem and going out shooting to a brief to come up with an image that goes with the theme.

Its a bit of fun but will help your photography come on leaps and bounds. Also if you get into the right mindset it is really exciting waiting to see who won, where you ranked and what is coming next.

Loving the changes St3v3 now lets see people make some great images.

Why can't I submit a photo for the wet theme? It says new submissions are being accepted? but there is no option to upload my image.

I like the new rule about no archived photo's. So that makes it a challenge and encourages creativity.

So much fun! Could you > Please Post Your Submissions Here: http://www.uglyhedgehog.com/photo_contest.jsp?pcnum=15 < though or it won't count. Be sure to add a Statement about it or at least a Title and of course good luck!
