Spotted Camel Cricket

Caught this litter bugger in my basement last night. It is a Spotted Camel Cricket. It's high arching back and spots represent its name. They eat at night on plants and other bugs. We don't have plants in the house, so they must be eating small bugs so I guess that makes him a "good guy".

They are amazing jumpers, hide in dark places and they are as quick as a bullet so it's difficult to catch them without squishing it.

Because of his cooperation, no crickets were harmed in the making of this photo and he was released outdoors to hop another day! Thanks for viewing and please comment as you wish.

Good for you, both on the photo and getting it outside.

Nice one.

We walked a tub dragline 12 miles. The environment coordinator shut us down for two days. Saying we were killing to many those an some kind of milkweed

you got a nice shot, sippyjub. I've never seen a cricket like that...enjoyed your narrative too.
