Larry, can you demystify the shot and tell me what he did to capture this? Is this a case of focus stacking or something else?

I wondered about that too - I cannot say for sure as I do know the guy personally - but it could have been done with a tilt/shift lens - that is the way David Muench did it on 4X5 back in the film era.

I wouldn't think any focus stacking was going on here, as nothing much is in focus when you click to see a full res preview.

Interesting observation. I find that curious, as the overall smaller representation give the certain impression of sharpness. Hmmm.

IMO, this is an anomaly of the viewing medium .....and viewer expectation ...

All images look sharper at smaller sizes. Scaling images down hides flaws.
