Trouble with a Tamron 200-500 lens

I have a Tamron SP AF DI ld [IF] 200-500mm 5-6.3 lens that works perfectly on my Canon 60D. When attached to my 7DII, instead of the camera writing the info to the card, it just says busy in the view screen and the top screen has a card alert. I can put all new cards in and it still does the same thing. I can put any other lens on and they work perfectly but the Tamron only works on the 60d. Went to a local shop and tried it with other bodies and it works fine too. But not on the 7DII. I contacted Tamron support and they just want me to send it in. The lens is only valued at 170 so paying for repairs is not likely to happen.
Do any of you know of a update to cure this, or am I just going to have limited use of this lens?
Thanks for your input.
Pete

Sounds lake a Tamron/Canon issue for their customer support.

Make sure the firmware on your 7DII is up-to-date.

And the electrical connection is clean and the mount locked down.

I was going to say that but also you may have to update the lens firmware as well. There are several articles on line that talk about Tamron compatibility issues. I've attached a YouTube link - you can see if it applies to your lens. https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=6-ZqcCi1hV0

Thank you all for the replies, I will check the lens firmware as the firmware on the body is up to date.

A common issue of incompatibility between camera and an independent lens.

I had the very same problem with my Tamron 150-600mm lens on my 5D Mark IV. I had to send the lens in for a firmware update. It was free, but the lens was still under warranty. Tamron has a 10 turn around for lens repairs and firmware updates. I'd find out if the firmware update is free, but in any event the lens will not work on your 7D Mark II without the update. Good Luck.
