Hi,
I am leaving for PNG on Monday and want your opinions of what lenses to take. The wt. restrictions are only 11 lbs for a carry on. I don't want to put cam. gear in my regular luggage (22 lb wt. limit) I will probably take my canon dslr and my canon S90.
Thanks for your help. Please send me pvt. messages. I have to pack and get a lot of stuff done before I go, and can't sift through all the pics. I am thinking my 85 lens? Annemarie
You serious about taking a DSLR to PNG? I would not, Port Moresby is one of, if not the world's most dangerous cities. I would take whatever I could keep out of sight in a pocket, or you're likely to have it stolen and be murdered at the same time.
I agree its the most dangerous place in the world, lived in Port Moresby for 31/2 yrs, wear trousers or longish skirt, and watch your back, I would never go without a companion, and I wouldn't take my D800 however much I wanted good photos. Best of luck!!
Check this website out and decide on your own.

I spent 2 year in PNG teaching English. The people who wrote are correct. Port Morsby is dangerous! Most other places in PNG are okay.

Hi there Annemarie, a little late but I like to hear about how the Papua New Guinea trip turned out. Lilived there for 4 years in the late 60's
I spent 2 years in PNG teaching English. Can you avoid Port Morsby? East New Britian is a lovely safe place.
lol. I was an aircraft crew member in the 60's and we landed there. I wouldn't get off the plane until their medical examiner left. I thought he was a witch doctor because he looked like a witch doctor and scared me to death.
