What good are these thistles, anyway? (squirrel)

This is not a backyard squirrel! This is a refuge-ee squirrel who has to fend for him/herself, as there are no bird feeders nearby. Good eats to be had if you only look.

Smart squirrel. Thistles are in the same family as sunflowers but thistle seeds are even better nutritionally.

Nice ones. Squirrel feeder? What’s a squirrel feeder? I have a dozen or so running around my yard, and I’ve never fed them. Well, there are plenty of walnuts, so . . . .
