A clever and eye-catching composition! A part of me wants to say, "yeah but the subject matter should be serious." Then I tell myself to just enjoy the perspective, the cool textures and the great line of stone buildings and chimneys.

One technical element that could be improved IMO is the upper right sky. I'd try some reduced-opacity cloning to fill in the bright white spot with a few clouds.

Thanks for posting this in FYC!

Thanks for commenting and I agree, filling that area a little to tone it down would help hold the attention to the fort or at least make it better match the rest of the sky.

Nice! I spend so much time making sure the verticals are straight, I'm contused about the perspective.

I like the perspective and framing, but to be honest the real estate guy wants to go to lens correction.

Really nice wide angle view. Everything is sharp so you did a great job with the dof. My only nit-pick would be that a lower angle might have given your photo more impact. Good job.

This was a stitch of many images and I used a 24-105 lens, shot at 24. I could have chose for the program to use a different perspective, but let the program choose.

Actually, I shot this same series with different formats including vertical.

Must admit I thought you’d used a wide angle lens until I read to responses. It’s an eye catching image and one worth a second look, so well done. You’re onto the sky problem and that will stop my eye wandering off. Very appealing.
