American Goldfinch - male ( Spinus tristis)
W. Kentucky, USA - 5/7/2018

Interesting Tidbit: American Goldfinches breed later than most North American birds. They wait to nest until June or July when milkweed, thistle, and other plants have produced their fibrous seeds, which goldfinches incorporate into their nests and also feed their young.

Beautiful, Mike. Perhaps you could have removed the branch cutting across the neck area? Might be worth a try.
